'Course I'm also still treating #STO as canon because no fucks are given, so if we assume neither Mariner nor Boimler die during the Iconian War then they'd probably have been promoted to Captain at the same time, more or less immediately after the Battle at Midnight in late 2410. So they'd have been at their prime just as the Alliance is born. They'd pretty much be guaranteed to have an interesting career :D
