Beyond a holiday run (NYE, Halloween, etc) is there a better Phish date than 8/16?
@Axillapt3 08.16 gets that big lift from the festivals in the 90s but there are some dates in July and especially late Fall that have epcot shows all over the timeline
@LostReflector hit me up with a favorite! I love how one date or dates over many years can amass so many solid shows

@Axillapt3 from July you can take your pick from 07.29, 30, or 31 all have wonderful examples. For Fall you can start as early as 10.29 for heaters running up to Halloween. later Fall (like November and anything post Turkey runs) aren't as prevalent in modern era so I may have overstated that a bit but 11.29 has a very strong argument.

I would love to see a matrix showing what dates they have played most frequently to make it easier to discern

@Axillapt3 This is a great question. Need some time to think.
@chopaganda @Axillapt3 that's arrival day for curveball innit?
@chillwig @chopaganda And perhaps you just killed it. Haha
@Axillapt3 @chopaganda 8/16/20 was cancelled for covid
@Axillapt3 @chopaganda so yeah the whole premise must stand on the shoulders of 96-98
@chillwig @Axillapt3 @chopaganda It was the best of times it was the worst of times
@rowjimmy @Axillapt3 @chopaganda I think we were just pulling up next to you guys at the campground right about this time
@chillwig @Axillapt3 @chopaganda right about this time is when Chop dragged RJ and I into his rv to try to convince us that 2004 was good.
@rowjimmy @chillwig @Axillapt3 @chopaganda just cede him SPAC and gtfo
@mrcompletely @rowjimmy @chillwig @Axillapt3 I specified June 2004. Even I won’t defend Coventry and Vegas. Also, I was right.
@chopaganda @mrcompletely @rowjimmy @chillwig @Axillapt3 narrator: “he *was* right, you know”
@velvetseawader @chopaganda @mrcompletely @rowjimmy @chillwig @Axillapt3 Mike Gordon's June 2004 might be the single best month that any member of #phish has ever had.
@drewphish @chopaganda @mrcompletely @rowjimmy @chillwig @Axillapt3 dude YES the summer of Mike!!!! First of all, the Coney Island shows were awesome. 2nd night 2nd set SPAC, anyone?? The Mansfield shows 🔥 hot damn summer 04 was definitely a cocktease for how they would eventually end it.
@drewphish @chopaganda @velvetseawader @rowjimmy @chillwig @mrcompletely Funny enough I listened to the SPAC N1 with the amazing ASIHTOS and Piper and it really does hold up so well. My first SPAC show taboot
@Axillapt3 @drewphish @chopaganda @velvetseawader @rowjimmy @chillwig both second sets from SPAC 04 deserve to be in anyone's A list rotation
@mrcompletely @Axillapt3 @drewphish @velvetseawader @rowjimmy @chillwig And the first set of 6/19 is magnificent. And the Drowned to close the first set of N2 is incredible.
Jun 07, 2004 Setlist - Phish.net

@lumpblockclod @drewphish @chopaganda @mrcompletely @rowjimmy @chillwig @Axillapt3 I WAS AT THIS SHOW!!!!! It was absolutely incredible. I think it might have been my first Duo show but I have to look back on those dates lol
@drewphish @velvetseawader @chopaganda @mrcompletely @rowjimmy @chillwig @Axillapt3 so true. And that bass tone is so sick in 04. His bass has never sounded like it before or since. Except maybe in the Worcester Moma in 2003
@chopaganda @chillwig St Louis 93 helps tip the scales. There are few somewhat average 3.0 shows in there but I don’t think it takes away from the overall premise
