Tired of my work phone nuking itself every day. The cause of the issue was Outlook.
After a remove and reinstall of it, issue gone. Absolutely ridiculous. This seems to be a known issue for quite awhile.
@colinstu .... this makes me wonder if Outlook on my phone is causing it to drain faster these days. Maybe I should try this... any link to the issue?
@ridayah Can't remember the specific thread but it seems pretty pervasive.
@colinstu some appa really suck the juice. Makes me wonder what they are REALLY doing in the background. All a mail client should do is poll the server every 2 or so mins
@avon_deer the internet seems to suggest this can be caused by it trying to download some very old / large / messed up calendar event or attachment.
I wasn't able to find any indication of that, no settings changes would resolve it. But a remove and reinstall did *shrug*. We'll see how long this will last, as it wasn't immediate before.
@colinstu i honestly want to download an old version of Eudora or some shit. I do not trust the tech giants. Every OS now seems broken out of the box and i have to spend hours after a clean install making shit work the way it SHOULD do..like an OS rather than a tablet interface. I am genuinely looking at Linux when my current machine carks it. Unless W11 gets its shit together.

@avon_deer well Exchange support is necessary for the workphone email. Really limits it.
But I guess there are some other clients that support it too, curious how they'd be.

And lol @ old Eudora, yeah I know that feeling too.
I spun up SeaMonkey for a lil while messing around with personal stuff (its email client) - was a breath of fresh fuckin air. Something that looks ancient but just WORKS.
