Our entire economy is built to solve the problem of there not being enough to go around. It seems to me that this is not our current problem. There is enough. The problem is that it isn't going around.

presuming that's the case, it's been co-opted, unfortunately

(and I'm not really certain that's the case, these days -- the entire economic everything seems to be equal parts greed disguised in academic language and naivete disguised in academic language)

@CarlMuckenhoupt I'd say that's not the problem it's designed to solve -- or, at least, I'd put more emphasis on the "enough" and little to none on "to go around".

That is: it's designed to solve the problem of there just not being enough stuff to own.
