NOAA just sent a #tsunami warning for northern New Jersey, among other places. You have to scroll way down to find it was a test. If a tsunami could reach this far inland, we'd probably be talking an extinction-level impact....
@gmusser That's probably why they chose it. They knew it wouldn't cause a panic because nobody would believe it. πŸ˜‚

@gmusser Huh, why did FEMA just send this song to everyone? ;-)

@gmusser

NY [State] Alerts sent same text w/o map but clearly marked TEST. But yeah a lot of scrolling to find out why - "to determine transmission time in the dissemination of tsunami information..." That explantion is in Englsi & Spanish; the rest of the msg is in English only.

@gmusser Fuuuun...and *totally* not nerve-wracking *at all* considering there's an up tick in interest on asteroids among NASA scientists πŸ˜…πŸ˜¬
@gmusser β€œTHIS IS A TEST TO DETERMINE
TRANSMISSION TIMES INVOLVED IN THE DISSEMINATION OF TSUNAMI INFORMATION.”
In my case at least 5 hours?
