The University of Chicago is paying out $13.5 million to settle claims that it acted as a price-fixing cartel with 16 elite schools to keep financial aid low. In total the suit claims these schools overcharged 170,000 financial-aid recipients by HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of dollars. These schools all call themselves "need blind."
