With all the social media shake ups over the past year, I'm still trying to figure out the best home(s) to share what I do. Instagram is the obvious choice. It has a large user base, is photo and video friendly(ish), and there is a huge watch community.

I like Mastodon, but it feels a lot like sitting in my basement in 1994 compiling a new linux kernel from my slackware CD. I like the vibe but I'm not sure my tribe is here.

I think Bluesky has the chance of being the most like twitter and attracting the largest non-geek audience who are active participants.

Threads is dead on arrival as far as I'm concerned. Lots of accounts on there, but very few humans posting anything which isn't just a mirror of their IG accounts.

I guess the largest deciding factor will be how much crossover there is (I don't like annoying people who follow me on multiple services), and how easy it is to post photos and video. I guess I just need to experiment and see what works.
