Dari is trans, 18 and in a small Conservative town, it's not filled with options for trans teens with respect to employment. Are the folks harassing Dari aware of the statistics on homeless youth? By some estimates, 2SLGBTQIA+ youth make up between 25% and 40% of homeless youth in Canada. That means that nearly 1 out of every 3 homeless young people in Canada identifies as 2SLGBTQIA+. How precarious their situation and how vulnerable Dari is? Again they only think of themselves.

@lightlysaltd @Gigi I'll add, a lot of youths on social media are open about their sexuality or gender. That doesn't mean they are free to be themselves at home or in their personal lives, it's a way they can express themselves and find community.

Either they don’t care about trans rights or they have a very rainbow washed view of what it’s like to be queer outside of cities. It’s basically Trump land. They’re all mocking said trans youth as if it’s an over exaggeration, but this is a very real, legitimate safety threat
