Lately, I've been trying the reduction of load time on my slurry lather and just 3 swirls was enough today, easily. I didn't even use the luxurious stuff left in the knot.

I tried my third slurry lather today. Two passes, 10 minutes from picking up the brush until last spritz of EdP. I'm not rushing at all. A fun experiment in time optimization.

@gcgallant that's cool!

For me, now that the slurry has established itself as one of my favorite quick shaving methods, I'm venturing into how little soap I need. Today it was just three swirls in the tub!

But quick load times are kind of expected since this method comes at the soap with a lot of moisture.

@sgrdddy Tell me more about the Slurry Lather.

@merikus It's the kind of face lather I've been doing for most of Austere August as I seek to know more about it and document its pros and cons before presenting it as a method to our little shaving community.

It comes from the first pass of lather not being mature, but more of a slurry, where it feel like it's mostly water, with just some soap floating around in it. Turns out its actually very slick.

Here's a pretty good into to it. Lots of hydration at the start..

@sgrdddy This is fascinating to me, I’m going to try it and let you know what I find.
@merikus Looking forward to it!

@merikus
The strength is that it's super slick, very fast, and might be one I start recommending to noobs because it's hard to get it wrong, since it's coming at the lather process with tons of water in it from the start.

It seems not to have some of the disadvantages of other face lathering methods, like running out of lather, and the good ultra-hydrated stuff being what is flung off of your brush.

@merikus I stumbled upon it as I was trying something else around the Austere August time frame last year.
