My impression is that a lot of folks are currently projecting onto Bluesky that which they WANT a Twitter replacement to be. Fine.

But. It’s still beta; still invite-only; still has a LOT of missing features. And it has a lot of hurdles to overcome, including scaling, moderation, and monetization.

I hope it evolves into what folks want. But I think right now it’s foolish and shortsighted to once again put all one’s eggs in one basket. I’ll still be active on Mastodon indefinitely. ❤️

@cooner I still find it sucks that by the time I joined Mastodon, everyone has already moved to blusky as their new home for an Alternative. I’m kinda getting used to Mastodon and so far do like it here.

While there’s good things for blusky, I don’t think it’s gonna last long once it’s open for everyone, plus hearing it’s made by the same person who used to own Twitter I’m not sure if that’s promising.

@Talegas I'm there and keeping an eye on it in case it lasts but for now I'm focused on Mastodon. Even if Bluesky takes off I'll probably continue to use both :)

@cooner sadly I might consider joining once it’s open. I feel mostly everyone are there now and not having good luck on filling slots at twitter.

I’ll still use mastodon, especially since I just got it lol.
