Have y'all seen the videos and pics from #Lahaina??

Omg. It's devastating. The entire area looks like it was strafed by firebombs. I think the death toll is climbing, too. It's literally horrific.

No electricity, fuel is low, food is low, water is low, supplies are low. Maui only has ONE hospital and it is overrun. Folks are traumatized.

And if there are folks/ mainlanders complaining about their busted vacation plans, they can suck it. Maui's resources need to go toward relief -- not effing tourists.

(Seriously. Who needs to be reminded of that?!?)

@DeliaChristina I’ve heard someone complain IRL that their planned October vacation to Maui was ruined. They said it was their favorite place on the planet. But they didn’t talk about trying to help - just asked for suggestions where they might vacation instead. ARGH.

The drinking water is contaminated now too because of (among other things like literal fallout) chemicals they used in the firefighting.

Tourists, indeed - just a couple of weeks ago, large chunks of Greece were aflame, and British holidaymakers were complaining that their flights out had been cancelled.
In more than a few cases, their hotels had burned down, but no, they wanted somewhere else finding for them.
