The #CommunityPharmacy B.S. campaign continues.

A chain of pharmacies, who operate all three sites at my local shopping centre, keeps pushing the debunked Save our Pharmacies messages in their email marketing.

I just unsubscribed from their mailing list today, telling them exactly why; and also sent a shot across the bow.

We don’t need *five* community pharmacy licenses within a 1.32Km radius - so i’ve opened communications with Dept. Health to see how licences can be reviewed.

And here’s the problem illustrated.

Each of these circles represents the centre of where a #CommunityPharmacy is located, and the border is the distance to the next nearest community pharmacy is located.

As you can see, a whole lot of overlap.

The first map shows the wider area, with at least 11 pharmacies within a 6.5km radius. The second shows Joondalup, with 5 pharmacies in a 1.5km radius.

That’s just too many for Joondalup, and especially so close together.
