@revkellyn honestly, I just name my VMs / containers after what's running on them, my working PC is ${distribution}Pc, and my VPS are named after where they're hosted...

@revkellyn Norse mythology of course....there are a couple of exceptions though

@revkellyn Egyptian gods. I like having actual names better than some naming scheme like "nomad_worker_01" or "cluster_controller_12".

I have three unconnected schemes and I don't remember why I chose them 🤷‍♂️
My physical servers are professors from Harry Potter (Albus; Minerva) and VMs are Thomas & Friends characters (Henry; Edward; James, etc). Cloud VPSes are Star Wars Star Destroyers (Nitsa; Entor; Reyna). https://namingschemes.com/Main_Page
