isekai is a trope (donβt know how to explain better) in animes where the main character gets reincarnated in another world (usually fantasy, but not always) and carries all memories of his previous life.
This means, the protagonist βdiesβ in the first episode, before reincarnation. Usually hit by a truck.

It includes novels, light novels, films, manga, anime and video games that revolve around a displaced person or people who are transported to and have to survive in another world, such as a fantasy world, virtual world, or parallel universe. Usually sent via being hit by a truck, hence the pic.
