I'm such an e-sim pusher but another thing I have discovered about them is if you blow through your data plan in a month and don't want to pay the inflated prices of your evil oligopolistic telecom, you can also get a cheaper e-sim from a 3rd party supplier (I like Airalo) to act as a stopgap.
They're also just really good pre-paid plans if you don't want standing monthly data packages. So easy to use.
@casseagull Are e-sims basically what you'd use for a short trip to another country? In the past I'd buy a cheap pay as you go plan with a physical sim card (always a better plan for less than at home of course 🤦).

@dairpo Yup that is exactly it. In Europe you can even go with one of their bigs (I recommend Orange - their setup is good) because all telecom plan prices are regulated continent wide (IMAGINE).
You can buy a plan and you get a QR code to scan with your phone so that you are ready to go as soon as you arrive. It's amazing.
