canceled my spotify subscription for good. fuck this company
found my walkman, gonna use this now
i'm currently changing a lot of stuff in my vision of hardware/software/computing in general...i think it's necessary
Gotta salvage hardware, repair stuff, and just change my "digital life paradigm" for good
I think what made me realize I HAVE to do this is thanks to my friends in town who are hacking hardware, using refurbished stuff..and the interest I got for permacomputing. and btw thank you @neauoire for inspiring me a lot in this, I've been following your work for a while now and I think I'm finally ready for all these changes
right now my goals are changing my digital life, building a local community oriented towards hacking, repairing, building custom and resilient/low tech tools (and of course, adding a little bit of art into all this)
@Lime It's good to see you take steps, don't forget that it's a process, and a painful one at that, moreso for visualists who depend on highly efficient programs and hardware. I hope you document your experiments so it also help others to navigate all this
@neauoire Yup I will go step by step, regarding visuals/vjing, I plan to build my own hardware, still in the low-tech/easy-to-make mindset, and yeah I really plan to document all of this :)

@Lime canceling mine was one of the best decisions I've made last year.

I went to Apple Music tho (for now) ; their more classic approach, revolving around building a music library instead of making 4242 playlists wth 99999 tracks, made me enjoy collecting albums just like I did back in the torrent days and appreciate my music in a way more healthier way!

I hope to find some way to totally escape these subscriptions services one day, tho. But that was a step in the right direction

@diffty Yeah, clearly I can't stand Spotify's bullshit anymore. I had a good experience with Apple Music, but don't want to rely on a streaming platform anymore tbh
@Lime (that wasn't an advert for Apple Music btw, this is more about how Spotify sucks in many ways)
@Lime Love seeing more people do this! I decided last December that I'd stop subscribing. Instead, every month I've been buying an album on bandcamp and it's so liberating.
