Today I shall join team AMD GPU, that is all.
@gamingonlinux Why? I've just gone the green way with my new gaming PC.
@belabartha @gamingonlinux less hassle I guess? That's why I did so years ago
@AmonTheMetalHead @gamingonlinux I wish I saw this a few weeks ago. Last few GPUs I had were from AMD, but now switched to nVidia.
@belabartha @gamingonlinux eh, It'll probably be fine too, depending on your distro, the nvidia situation today is way better than it was 10 years ago, and mesa support for foss nvidia drivers is also chugging along, you'll probably be fine ;)
@AmonTheMetalHead @belabartha because NVIDIA gives me constant headaches, and I want the FOSS drivers like I have on Steam Deck :)
@gamingonlinux @AmonTheMetalHead @belabartha why did you think of the Asus TUF 16 AMD advantage? A good buy?
@belabartha @AmonTheMetalHead @gamingonlinux
I've used nvidia in my developer computers for years and I use the proprietary drivers. There is some occasional hassle. I probably reinstall the drivers 5x over the 3 years the computers last. Nothing to lose sleep over. It has been pretty constant for 10 years or so (it used to be broken with every update).
