Any torrent sites with relatively lax sign up/upload rules? Or some place to easily upload torrents - programming.dev

I’ve been thinking about putting some stuff that I can only find on direct download sites up as torrents, but most places I can access either have fake sign up/login links, or have very strict rules, like torrentgalaxy requiring at least 5 uploads per month for 3 months

Pirate Bay is not recommended to be used, no moderation and no virus checkings. As public I think the best and maybe only choose today is 1337x

From my understanding, peer trackers don’t really have a way of differentiating what torrents they are added to.

just torrent only on linux from PB, youll be fine. Just dont run it on anything besides genuine commercial Linux flavor

Unfortunately most public torrent indexers tend to restrict ability to upload so it’s not quite that straightforward.

There’s a few you can investigate, let us know how it goes.

  • 1337x - Not sure what their registration requirements are, if any.
  • Angie Torrents - They seem to have registration/uploads, unsure of any requirements. (their website isn’t great, maybe check out the others before trying here)
  • BitSearch - Mainly a torrent DHT crawler/indexer but they do offer the ability to add new torrents to their search index (both BitSearch and SolidTorrents)
  • Demonoid - I’m pretty sure registered users can upload there, keep an eye on when they open registration.
  • GloTorrents - They do have specific uploading requirements so probably not for you but maybe will help others, see their forums forums.glodls.to/threads/uploading.5/
  • SolidTorrents - Mainly a torrent DHT crawler/indexer but they do offer the ability to add new torrents to their search index (both BitSearch and SolidTorrents)
  • The Pirate Bay - They have a manual registration process explained in their forums pirates-forum.org/Thread-New-TPB-accounts-availab…
  • TorrentFunk - They seem to have registration/uploads, unsure of any requirements.
  • YourBittorrent - They seem to have registration/uploads, unsure of any requirements.

Also note that many of the russian torrent forums do seem to allow registering & posting torrents but am unsure of their specific requirements. Also non-english. (ruTracker, Rutor, etc.)

Thanks for the list. Went through some of them:

  • 1337x has rules similar to GalaxyTorrents.
  • Angie needs a 7 day old account first, then contact with an admin. Guess I’ll wait
  • Bitsearch and Solidtorrents’ Login and Sign Up buttons don’t work at all for me, even with extensions disabled (Firefox, Chromium)
  • Glo only accepts “genuine scene releases”. Welp, guess I can’t enter.
  • TPB either loads the takedown page (brazilian one), or refuses to load (VPN), otherwise I’d upload there, I have an old account.
  • TorrentFunk blocked me from registration because I failed to fill all fields (gender, DoB) 3 times. Wow…
  • Yourbittorrent’s site seems very broken. Made an account, but the control panel is just php errors on top of more errors. Tried to upload, but it fails without any errors, apparently the field where you send the .torrent file is broken. Tested with FF and Chromium

I don’t think you require an account to upload/add a torrent hash there, give it a go without registering.

TPB either loads the takedown page (brazilian one), or refuses to load (VPN), otherwise I’d upload there, I have an old account.

See the TPB official domains in their forums pirates-forum.org/status

For blocked websites you can try changing your system’s DNS, or use a VPN, or use a proxy, or use Tor Browser.

Note that you do need to register/post in the TPB forums to request to register/upload at the main TPB site.

Yes, some of the old staff rebooted the site after the main admin passed away a while back. It’s not quite the same as the old one (all the old accounts are gone, old torrents from the old site are gone) but otherwise it’s still around. See the Torrentfreak articles for an overview
