I wrote about how the tremendous, versatile second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds reminded me a lot of... Atlanta? I am *not* a crackpot. https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-movie-recaps/star-trek-strange-new-worlds-season-2-finale-cliffhanger-horror-1234801709/
‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Season 2’s Shocking Finale Cliffhanger

Second season of the Paramount+ Trek spinoff proves it’s one of the most underappreciated — and creatively versatile — shows on television

@sepinwall “Barry” reminded me a lot of “Atlanta” as well. Turns out Hiro Murai was involved in both of them

@sepinwall huh I definitely thought chapel's song was both the best and most memorable, and the two you called out were kinda disappointing.

Though there's no doubting Uhura's voice chops.

I mostly felt like it needed a better musical antagonist. Buffy had Sweet and the emotional conflicts between characters to create some really juicy reveals and counterpoint. Would have loved if Spock had been an active player in chapel's song for eg.
