American woman, child freed after being kidnapped in Haiti last month - Lemmy.world

Looks like she’s been living / working there for several years and started a family there. She’s not a random American that was blowing through.

Did the article imply that?

Every source I’ve seen shows her with her Haitian husband working in Haiti.

I was curious and read some other articles. For example:

masslive.com/…/who-is-alix-dorsainvil-new-hampshi…

Looks like she’s likely been living their full time for at least 3 years, and she’s been living there on and off for quite some time.

Who is Alix Dorsainvil? New Hampshire woman, child kidnapped in Haiti, nonprofit says

"She seeks people out to show them love and compassion, and no one is excluded from receiving her kindness," the nonprofit wrote.

Fuck me the title made me think they like pulled out her uterus. Like saying somebody’s been child freed is a really fucked up way to describe that
If you’re misreading that bad it may be time to take a break from the news.

That would be the mother of euphemisms.

I’ve seen headlines saying “woman robbed pregnant woman’s unborn baby,” and that’s already sanitized (as opposed to “woman cut open pregnant woman and stole phoetus.”

“I don’t need to evacuate because gOd WiLl PrOtEcT mE!”

See "religious organization" and freak out.

Stop it. She's a nurse there ffs.
