I grew up in section 8 housing, needing food stamps to get buy, & I’ve been working since I was 15. I’m grateful to have emerged from that struggle. But I’m enraged that wealth and income inequality is worse now than it was 30 years ago. And it continues to get even worse.

I’m running for Congress because I realized something many years ago. Poverty isn’t a life choice. We cannot tolerate policies that make it a life sentence. Let’s get to work. Because Justice cannot wait.

@QasimRashid No one should be aloud to be rich so long as anyone has to go without the basics(well that and so long as the planet is baking and the top 1% spew 29% of the greenhouse gasses)..
@QasimRashid I give you credit for rising above your background! Good for you!
@QasimRashid good luck, sir. You can count on my vote, not that it'll help much as I'm a Brit 😹

@QasimRashid
Idk which region is 11th district of IL. I've always thought Naperville to be an extremely wealthy area, as someone who grew up in a poor rural area. I remember visiting there for a book signing and feeling like I was someone special ~visiting the affluent city~.

The wealthy aren't usually the sort to like this type of message unless they're self-aware enough to harbor some guilt. It's very brave and compassionate of you to stand up for your progressive values. I've seen several of your posts and if they reflect you truly, then you are very needed. I hope all the best for you and that somehow you can inspire change. ❤️

@QasimRashid
Housing Choice Voucher just doesn’t have the same ring to it, does it?
@QasimRashid "The poor will be with you always."
@JackKissir @QasimRashid Relative wealth inequality, yes will always be with you, but in the richest nation on earth, "poor" should still be able to live a happy healthy life. Especially while Camels can fit through the eye of a needle easily compared the insanity of our rich.
@anubis2814 I agree 1000%. iI was just reminding Christians who believe in the Prosperity Message.
