Played Regicide for the first time - Lemmy.world

Just played Regicide [https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/307002/regicide] for the first time. Damn. That game is vicious! A great cooperative game played using a standard deck of cards. My wife and I were able to win, but only by cheating like mad: Played with hands face up, and mostly ignoring hand size limit. I realize that’s cheating, but we’re learning it. Very fun, but hard. Kind of like Arkham Horror done with a standard deck. What strategies do you use when playing?

Very hard game!

There’s a companion app that you can use to track health and whatnot for free. If you pay $3 you can unlock a digital version of the game in the app.

I’m on iOS so only have a link to it on the Apple App Store. There might be an Android version as well.

Keep track of enemy stats with the Companion or play solo right inside the app!

Beware, that App just turned my phone into a handwarmer :p Don’t know why but it seems to do a lot of work in the back.
Oh boy. Hopefully you’re playing somewhere cold and can utilize it 🥲
Makes a great solo too. Getting a Gold Victory (meaning no Jesters used) is satisfying!
Yes cool game! So much depth in just a standard card deck game. I don’t know any strategies, I was only ever trying to not run out of diamonds.

Thanks for sharing, I’ve never heard of it. Since it can be played with a regular deck of cards I’ll give it a spin!

The player to have most recently committed regicide goes first.
