Will there be an ahead-of-time Release Date announcement, or is it going to go from ‘coming soon’ to ‘it’s out!’ as soon as it’s ready?

(I think the former might be better for building hype/sales, but the latter sees it out sooner, so I don’t have a preference, just curious.)
