@asymco His statement about depreciation is absurd. When has it ever been possible to buy a 4-year-old mainstream used car for one third of its original price? I recently sold a Civic for about one third of its original price. It was 15 years old.

@asymco not sure we want to stop buying cars cold turkey. The car industry props up a lot of manufacturers and jobs. Kind of a necessary evil esp in the States
