Literally 200 years after the problem was identified and nobody has found a way to make my life and millions of other peoples' lives better without an old guy who owns property before me demanding that I fork over the tiniest increase in my standard of living. The solution, they say, is to have millions of people just below me on the economic ladder ready to riot, as the only effective slowing mechanism to inflation.

@samtobenkyou @MrLovenstein 2/2 and the only reason we are allowed to borrow against all our future income and current savings to buy property too small to make a living off of is because some of those older guys eventually need to cash out to pay for medical care that gives them 5 more years after a heart attack.
I chose not to have kids for economic reasons, and by the time I could sort of afford them, it was too late. Now I tell people not to let the world burn, but if they don't listen...

Itβs a crime to deny people a space of their own. The only thing that keeps me sane is having my home & land, being able to have pets and house-plants, to cook my choice of food & keep my own hours. There should be UBI and no oe should be unhoused.

DoomsdaysCW@MrLovenstein A couple of years ago, I asked my niece if she planned to have kids. She replied that like myself, she thought way too much about what kind of future was in store for us, and decided not to.
I've moved to @MrLovenstein I'm genuinely amazed that people do still have kids. I wouldn't have if I'd known we'd wind up here.
