@literalgrill @vantablack Universal afaik. They've been A/B testing it for a while now. If the anti-adblock mechanism detects failure to load ads, it will warn you before blocking playback based on your device/browser fingerprint, and if you're logged in, blocking your account from playing YT videos.

It's gonna become a cat and mouse game of course, and enshittification will eventually win, but that's gonna be a pyrrhic victory :3 if they lock audience out of YT, both the audience and creators are going to look for alternative platforms like #PeerTube
