Is there a way to hold screen open while a streaming app is in use?

Is there a way to hold screen open while a streaming app is in use? - Lemmy.world

Or hold it open while Bluetooth active and in use? Would be extremely useful to have my screen stay open while phone is playing music in the car. Phone is a Samsung A3 running Android 12, although I have had the same issue on other devices running different versions of Android so not sure its relevant.

There are a few apps that can do this on a per app basis like wakey but they require a purchase.

Personally I just use Waze and the yt music integration, waze on its own keeps the screen on

There also xposed modules but that requires a rooted phone.

I dont have Waze, I am trying Wakey now, I think that should do the job. I dont mind paying the small amount they want for the functionality it gives me

Does your phone have Samsung Modes and Routines? if so, you can make a Mode that sets Dislay to Always On.

It doesnt. Suspect thats something only one new release Samsung phnes, mines 2-3 years old

Actually there is, you just gotta pay is all, but the amount is fairly trifling as far as I’m concerned. Thanks to @[email protected] I have a solution, one that nobody at reddit ever was able to come up with when I asked about it a while back
