Has anyone done a version of this in Ireland? One for David McWilliams surely: the percentage of people per US state paying more than $1,000 per month for their cars (it would also be valuable to include running costs: fuel, NCT, tyres, mechanical fixes, tolls, parking, insurance, tax, etc) #carbrain

@sinabhfuil The AA did one like that in 2019. They concluded that the average Irish car owner spends €10,691 a year on their vehicle, all told.

That's just under €30 a day.

I like to remind myself of this fact when a taxi would be the best solution, but I'm being parsimonious.

My car free lifestyle saves me a lot of money.

@IrishCraftBeer The American graphic was *purely car payments*. America should change its national slogan to "Americans: the Fools and their Money who are easily parted" #HailToTheChief
