Limerick: the only council actually tackling dereliction https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/spotlight/arid-41197516.html
Limerick fast becoming worst place in Ireland to own derelict property

Irishexaminer.com

@sinabhfuil I just got through selling an old derelict house my sister and I inherited to Limerick CoCo. If they are the best out there it’s no surprise the situation is bad.

The process took over five years from the point where we had fully agreed the sale, which wasn’t very much as it was a liability.

Part of the delay was a dispute about additional derelict site fines following extended delays due to internal county council issues.

Glad it’s done, should have been much simpler IMO.

@helvick Dublin is unbefuckinlievable - one of the most beautiful houses in Ireland, #Aldborough House, has been allowed to remain derelict since the 1980s. It's my personal opinion that #derelict site fines should be collected by Internal Revenue https://www.google.com/maps/@53.3554396,-6.2476184,3a,75y,214.34h,104.17t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sQqaoKNe-aA5GfplrUXqjaw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu

@sinabhfuil I fully agree there. Anything derelict for a long time in the city should just be taken.

For all my moaning Limerick CoCos policy was a factor in keeping us determined to close out. Every time we went back to the house it had a new or updated warning sign tacked to it.
