Honestly, this serial killer subplot feels so much like #WhenTheCamelliaBlooms that had so much other good subplots going but then they add in the evil serial killer mystery out of nowhere. (Not complaining. It is just uniquely kdrama.)

I am with Choi Chiyeol on this. Ms. Nam is a total boundary crosser. He asks her to please ignore him while camping and fishing, and yet she loudly yammers at him constantly. He doesn't want instant coffee, but she makes him drink it anyway. He doesn't want to talk about personal stuff with her, but she continues to pry and assume. He just wants to sit quietly, but she makes him stand up and do silly exercises with no context. And then she gets behind him and starts touching him and moving his arms without asking first. When he shakes her off and she accidentally falls into the bowl of water, SHE is the one who is mad.
No. Fuck you, lady. Leave him the fuck alone like he asked you eleventy billion times already. FFS.
I admit, I find the hockey player my favorite character in this. Sure sure, Sun-jae is a good friend of Hae-ee, but THE HOCKEY PLAYER, THO. He's cheeky, and has morals, and sticks up for Hae-ee both verbally and physically and rather adorable in his crush on her.

I have never had the urge to WRITE fanfic, although I've definitely enjoyed reading some.
But right now, I have an urge to write fanfic about the hockey player in the #CrashCourseInRomance #kdrama because I feel like the series just won't do him justice. I almost don't want to WATCH the rest of the series because I don't want my little fanfic thoughts to be crushed.
I've got Second Male Lead Syndrome bad.
Not me spending multiple hours this morning rewatching just the hockey player scenes to take notes so that if I *do* decide to write the fanfic, it is accurate. (He's in more episodes than I expected, so I have many left to review.)
Omg, he took her ice skating! And even admits he did it to show her that he really was a hard worker and not an idiot. Hae-ee, girl, how does that NOT make your heart flutter?!

Even when Sun-jae gets turned down, I love the hockey player's reaction. He's laughing so hard! And yet he made space for Sun-jae to ask Hae-ee out! He is such a mensch. I love him so much. Maybe I should figure out what his character's name actually is? No. I think hockey player is enough. More memorable.
But, wow. Only the Koreans see a rom-com and think it needs to be spiced up with some suicide and murder.
No! Don't make the hockey player fall in love with Su-a! Don't do it! No no no! 안돼! 하지마!
This show was OK. I wasn't too invested in the main couple much, except at the end. I felt like they just tried to pair characters up in the last couple episodes. I promise, just because there are similarly aged single men and women does NOT mean they have to become a couple.
The hockey player was the true gem of this show. Absolutely. Whichever person on the script team thought up his character deserves to have their preferred mode of transport always run on time, and sometimes even arrive early.
They really glossed over Hae-ee's major traumatic events. Apparently, she doesn't care that she was chased and detained by a murderer. And she walks just fine after jumping in front of a moving vehicle. I think I'd need some therapy after those things. And Mr. Choi seemed to move on to a new assistant quickly after his previous one jumped to his death in front of him. NBD, tho, right?
I am still 100% team hockey player, even if it doesn't include Hae-ee.
TheArchaeologist@jillithd The biggest crime was not having the student FL go out with the Hockey player. He was lovely from all angles. He covered her feet with the blanket when she was in hospital. He defended her even when he didn't know the details and her friends were turning on her. He would have been nothing but supportive to her and her career in life. Love him so much.
