As a privately held business, we have no clue. Only the directors of the company and the board truly know what impact was made, and even then I would not be typing this on this app were it not for Reddit’s behaviors. The effect may not even be immediate - it’s now clear to many many people what value lies in developing something better.
Digg still exists, so does MySpace, as does tumblr and many other irrelevant social media platforms.
They also “seemed fine” at first, until their slow decline into obscurity and irrelevance.
Give it time.
