@mw1cgg that looks like a UV-K5..
@mw1cgg I'd be very surprised if it's not :D
@vk2gpu Aye, it's just a rebadge although probably with different firmware - there's a lot of different firmware for the UV-K5 now.
@mw1cgg At some point I need to try hacking about in the firmware. But got plenty of time for that.
@vk2gpu There's a group on Fakebukkake that has lots of chirp files and firmware bits. Unfortunately that does mean going on Facebook.

@vk2gpu @mw1cgg Didn't you got one about the same time I did? Why not reflash it with a nicer firmware?

I'm really getting interested with the idea, it's current AM detection for airband is somewhat poor, and if there's something out there improving that would be great.

@M0KHR @mw1cgg I put the rssi-smeter firmware on it.
@vk2gpu @mw1cgg There was a firmware making it transmit at 1.2GHz (at mW levels) which would be interesting if I had other 1.2GHz equipment. :P

@mw1cgg I tell myself that all the timeโ€ฆ.

I never listen to myself and buy them anyway..๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘
