Crow Baby SCREAMS at Mother (Baby Crow Sounds)

YouTube
@eleanorrees @ct_bergstrom it was my first thought, so I thought I’d save you some time.
@eleanorrees @ct_bergstrom it's sort of a hoarser caw around this age, this is the closest I've found to the one I saw that was similar https://youtu.be/8SfClsqZCMw
How Do You Care for a Baby Crow?

YouTube
@ct_bergstrom looks like a South Park version of a crow.
@ct_bergstrom The adult bird(s) didn't attack you? 🙂 Usually they aren't very happy if you come near their offspring...
@ferdinand This bird fledged on a college campus where I suppose the parents were highly habituated to people. They were completely unconcerned. I was also shooting from a distance with a very long lens. I was watching closely for signs of distress from fledgling or parents and would have left immediately.
@ct_bergstrom @ferdinand they also probably heard from their crow friends that you’re trustworthy 😁
@ct_bergstrom this looks like a crow 3D printer glitched and left out the torso
@ct_bergstrom what an adorable crow. Lovely photo!
@ct_bergstrom anybody else getting a Herve Villachaize vibe?

@ct_bergstrom Very nice picture!

@Rook I think this whole account is for you xD

@ct_bergstrom "...mmmm Mom?"
"I liked That Other Place more..."
@ct_bergstrom Its facial expression is like "So what are you staring at, heh?"

@ct_bergstrom

This looks like the kind of kid who spends all their time talking to whatever adults will listen about their obsession with traffic light timing. And at first it's kinda cute and a little annoying, but then it gets really interesting because it turns out some of the light timing problems are related to graph theory.

(this got way too specific... But you know the type right? Always calls you Mr. ___ or Mrs. ___ even if you tell them not to?)

@ct_bergstrom that is both wonderfully adorable and also a masterful photo
@ct_bergstrom @futurebird so.... crows start out life as frogmouths?
@ct_bergstrom there is no way. Look at that little dude. It’s me.
@ct_bergstrom such a cute lil shorty 🥰
@ct_bergstrom So small and already so grompy!
@ct_bergstrom OMG I've never seen anything so cute!! And although I love crows I've never had the privilege of seeing one so young! Thank you -- this made my morning. If I credit you may I share with students? I teach college psych and we always talk about crows at least once LOL
@ct_bergstrom
Talk about looking old before your time...
@ct_bergstrom where is the rest of this bird 😂
@ct_bergstrom hours out the nest and already pissed

@ct_bergstrom

Carl, is it OK if I share this baby crow over on tumblr? I'll link back to this post and your account obviously.

People have been saying that this is a baby crow over there and it's driving me up the wall:

@futurebird @ct_bergstrom My searching got me to a bird called a buff-banded rail https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Buff-banded_Rail_chick_%28Gallirallus_philippensis%29_%2836761960344%29.jpg

[Edit: I'm not entirely convinced that it's the right bird but it seems like a good lead]

Yay! Thanks! The post about fake, incorrect baby birds is up. Now I just need to identify the "not crow" and it will be complete:

Fake baby birds.

For some reason there have been a lot of incorrect and even fake images of baby birds going around. Perhaps you saw the AI generated fake baby peacock? The baby crow is a real photo of a real young a…

Baby crow, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo…

If I have to have this stuck in my head, I'm going to make it *everyone's* problem.

@futurebird @ct_bergstrom ops just read linked post sorry, yeah buff-banded rail seems legit🤗
@futurebird @ct_bergstrom Pretty sure that's a baby chicken, different breeds are different colors as chicks. I couldn't tell you which breed that might be, but maybe @ksonney or @foxfeather can.

@futurebird Also, I'd like to show you this neat art of the growth of a crow from egg to fledgeling. It's a Carrion Crow, but they really don't look much different from American Crows.

@futurebird Have you used Cornell Lab Merlin Bird app? I’ve found it to work well for me when I can say where and when I spotted the bird with a photo.
