Google Takes a Page Out of Twitter's Book: Invites Employees to Sleep 'On Campus'

I feel mixed about this. They have a policy where people are expected to be at the office 3 days per week, which may be a hassle for people who live far away and still decided to go work for them. In that sense it’s good that they’re offering discounted accommodation in a region where house prices (and therefore rents) are ridiculous.

On the other hand, Google makes enough money to eat the full cost.

Google could build their own large suburb and not break the bank.
They should call it Fran Sansico
If they can work remote on the other days, there’s no reason they can’t work remote those 3 days. I just turned down a job offer for the same reason. Especially Google should be able to offer remote work.
“You want to work from home? OK”
Yeah that's a great idea. Don't work from home, live from work instead. Frig off...
