Looks like the #Somerville Home Depot and abandoned Circuit City might be up for redevelopment soon - lot just sold.
Not gonna lie, my home improvement projects are gonna take a lot longer now that I have to trek over to Everett for a home depot and I'm kinda bummed about that. It's been nice having one that is just a quick bike ride away. https://www.bldup.com/posts/somerville-development-site-acquired-for-142m

@scottsthoughts "great news! 750 homes! those sites were out of place in the changing area!" says the guy who lives an easy bike ride from the Watertown HD
@bikepedantic don’t get me wrong we need the housing and that lot was underutilized. Just… I could be working on a project, realize I need it, and be back to work in 10 minutes. I would literally ride into the Home Depot, throw things in my basket, and ride out 😂. I’m gonna miss that.

@scottsthoughts @bikepedantic oh the times I have biked into that home depot without a basket and one-handedly biked home with my purchase.
Also there was a guy who used to live up the street- he biked home with 2x4s under his arm. 😮

But also, it's close enough to walk too, which I have also done more than once.

@inliuofjoan @bikepedantic here’s the time I carried a 12ft 2x4 home from Home Depot. Note for future reference: remove bike from rack *before* attaching 2x4. #CarryShit #CargoBike
@scottsthoughts @inliuofjoan @bikepedantic 12 feet is impressive! I usually get lumber cut to 6
