I'm going to play the whole of Baldur's Gate 3 with a controller and you can't stop me
Playing Larian's outstanding game as a third-person Mass Effect-style RPG is really working for me.

A button and it “searches” the area and gives you a list of interactable items in the area. Unfortunately, this system needs some polish because selecting items results in your character moving around to interact with items and this changes which other items are in range, and reorders others, but even with this I prefer this method.
Thank you! I was searching for this functionality, having remembered something similar in Divinity 2. I will give that a shot!
And yeah not fun to have your character suddenly swing the long way around a table and take a few steps through fire just to read a tablet 😂
There does not appear to be and height limit to the search. I was at the mouth of a cave and selected some plant and my character ran all the way around the mountain to end up on top of the cave to pick the plant and I couldn’t find a way to cancel it.
So, needs some work but it’s still mostly useful. Haha
I was going to suggest this too. Divinity 2 did searches with holding down the button too. And it will select everything in a radius around you that you can interact with and you just choose what you want and how to interact with it.
I norming will select the book and then read. I may or may not pick it up. I only like valuable books quest related books.
Yes
Though it’s also missing the change of the item name when it has been opened (like a box). Otherwise it’s super annoying to loot everything.
But it’s a quick fix, I’m sure they will get around to it.
Jesus christ.
But not the Steam Deck. No, I need the extra GPU power and better screens of the Ryzen 7 7840U powered devices that have arrived recently, and because I crave that USB4 connection, too.
I’ve been playing the game wherever using the AOKZOE A1 Pro because it’s got a high-res screen and the Radeon 780M iGPU, but also because it’s got a USB4 port that lets me hook it up to a standard Thunderbolt external GPU dock when I’m at home. That means I can take twin advantage of both a discrete, desktop RTX 3070 and DLSS.
That feel when this is not-so-subtly an ad disguised as an article.
Same here except x2. Me and my gf were hoping for a DOS2 replacement and boy does it feel that way. Even the first couple of hours it has that divinity look and feel (no spoilers but the first couple of hours are very similar in many ways it seems).
Zero issues so far with the controllers.
Have you figured out how to merge the screens together when nearby like in DOS 1 and 2?
Apparently it’s a feature, but I can’t get it to work.
I have not
I did not know that was a thing. If you do find out tell me!!
Ive been playing on my PC and streaming using sunshine/moonlight to my steam deck and its perfectly fine.
Its much better on PC, but I cant lay in bed on the PC. Steam deck is a happy balance.
