@gruber glad to see Arc get a shout out on @daringfireball . Just wanted to chime in and say I also love Safari but made the switch. For me it was just I am a messy desk person and would always have 20 windows with 10 tabs and could never find anything. Arc really discourages that behavior and it’s organization just really “clicks” with me.

@kentonue I can see that. But I think that’s why Arc didn’t click for me: I *want* to have dozens, often hundreds, of tabs open.

I wrote my own little tab manager for Safari to let me search for open tabs by name. I should polish it up and share it.

@gruber Funny, that was one of my “solutions” to the problem. I used this app

I just love that Arc sidebar, it makes me nostalgic for OmniBrowser

@kentonue Whoa, I had never heard of Tabs Switcher before. Checking it out now -- thanks a zillion for pointing it out.
@gruber @kentonue +1, would love if you shared your tab manager search solution (or even just screenshots of it)
@saurabhs @kentonue Screenshots. First is a list of all tabs. The ones with dark squares are the frontmost tabs in their respective windows. Second is what happens as I type to filter the list. (I currently have way too many tabs open to my own site…)
@gruber @saurabhs This looks minimal and perfect
@gruber @kentonue Very cool, thanks for sharing! Seems like you are using Keyboard Maestro to make that search palette?
@saurabhs @kentonue If I just hit Return, it pastes that tab's URL into whatever the current app I'm using. Shift-Return pastes the tab Title + URL. Option-Return activates that tabs in Safari.
