This points to one of the basic reasons why we should resist the urge to preach doomism. It feeds into a narrative designed to pacify us and defeat consistent, wide-reaching and intelligent action in relation to the climate.

OK, I'm game:
Gore predicted the contraction of glaciers at the Earth's poles, which as far as I can see has been happening....
Gore also expected temperatures to his & recent data on the hottest days would seem to confirm that since Gore warned on this there has been a growth in the days reaching record temperatures...
So there are two predictions that seem to have come to pass.
Well the majority of scientific thinking is that actually we are causing theses specific changes... but you are right in general the world's environment *is* always changing but we've shoved in a particularly unwelcome direction (for us, the planet is indifferent to such changes)
The Canadian paper, the Globe and Mail, the paper to read if you are posted to the colonies, TEN YEARS AGO published a letter to the peasants from the Publisher, arent we so honoured, advising that climate change was human caused, and that it was "too late to do anything."
Once you remember that climate change is not a train destination, but a four year girl in the back seat of a car at Walmart, the "its too late to do anything" advice attains its full sulfer smell and low laugh
Interesting turn of phrase but I get your point.....
I fall over that line like a drunken cartoonist. Interesting enough to read vs fancy florid phrases forcing folks to forget faving.
"As the water breached to fill our lungs the voice of the yeomen still rang piercing and hollow upon our ears.
'There is nothing to fear. All is well.'"

as were others - the show remains (depressingly?) still very astute satire
Here's a fact we need to repeat over and over again. It is never too late to do something. The more dire the situation, the more extreme the measures will be. At some point, the only effective measures will be population reductions. This will naturally happen, but it can also be directed.

actually, one single super-rich is not demanding ten times his share, but one million times (according to his ecological footprint)
