Nah, people search the internet just as much, but now it’s far easier to find something to support your opinion no matter how far from the truth your opinion is. Its not about fact or fiction, it’s about somebody reinforcing what you think by repeating it. The scale of satisfaction has tipped from “learning something new” to “being right”, and its far easier to tell somebody that they’re right than to teach them something.

This sentiment is very common around the world. Every time something goes wrong it’s not the government: “It’s the USA/Europe/Jews! AAAARGH! They fear us so much!
