i'm gonna be setting up a jellyfin home server for a friend tmrw and would like distro recommendations.
i'd totally go with arch if it were my box, but since this is their machine and they've never used linux, i need something that would have more universal support and ready to go with a bit less maintenance. i'm also not a fan of ubuntu, ppas have always been a pain for me and also snap r bad

@ezra If you're setting up Jellyfin with Docker, the distro shouldn't really matter in the end. I've went with Fedora Server because I'm used to the Workstation edition on both my desktop & laptop. I had some issues initially with firewall rules (firewalld) but it was smooth sailing after that.

If your friend only want to run Jellyfin, I'd say go with what you're more confortable (Arch). The main maintenance would be to update the Jellyfin image, which can be done automatically with Watchtower.
