Linux Desktop Share keeps increasing, 3.13% now. Reaching the gap to ChromeOs 3.24%
This makes me really happy to see. Desktop Linux is fucking amazing nowadays. Gnome and KDE being as excellent as they are, Flatpak massively simplifying package management for end users, and Pipewire being Pipewire have all gone a long way in making desktop Linux more easily approachable and incredibly stable. If I’m allowed to be controversial, I’d include Wayland in that list as well.
I fucking love the open source community.
Flatpack has definitely made me stick with Linux as my personal home use OS.
Previously the apps from the store repo were kind of okay but sometimes hit and miss, then outside of that having to add repos and install apps by that way I didn’t mind too much but often it felt as though I was going to break something. Mixed experiences of app installs had previously made me retreat to the familiarity of windows.
I always came back to Linux because Windows just felt stinky, now Linux just feels so simple with Flatpack ❤️
