You really must read this wonderful post by @_MillieRooney, using Alone Australia to explore how our systems of economy and government keep us alone and how we can come together to Renovate Australia and build a collaborate state.

My only dispute, as we’ve discussed, is whether what emerges from that should be called a “state”. I think not. But that’s a quibble.

I differ with you on "state" though Tim, the mind set of needing a state really does invite the same problems the article is addressing to return later.

States always end up using violence to enforce their will, even when otherwise well-intentioned.

@craige @timhollo Thanks Craig. Yeah, as I said to Tim's post... important to keep this critique going and to work out what the alternative is. I genuinely don't know how we navigate the different scales needed and the language to match... Currently grappling with this in some work on care and disaster...
