#NY Congressman in #NYC 13 is #AdrianoEspaillat
Apparently, he is anti- #PublicTransit (the car diet, #bike friendly plan) in #TheBronx along #FordhamRoad , which is called 207 Street in #Inwood #Manhattan (And thus #Espaillat is against #ClimateChange solutions … namely, reducing car dependency of the wealthy who transit through #EnvironmentalJustice communities.)

Monumental fail.

I’ll be on the phone tomorrow:

@atthenius

"85,000 daily (bus) riders on Fordham Road"

At some the points the buses averaged the speed of a "brisk walk."

@Bman

The Inwood section goes under 4 mph. You can walk faster than that. I only use the bus through this section because the walk is so unpleasant with the highway crossing and all the construction.

Speaking of construction — that slowest section in Inwood has them putting up the densest housing as part of the rezoning. There is no more private car capacity on 207/Fordham. We desperately need change.

@atthenius @Bman this is one of my hobby-horses: “unpleasant” barely begins to cover it. Crossing the University Heights Bridge is actively dangerous! The slip-lane entrance to the southbound Deegan appears to have been designed to actively discourage anyone from walking between Manhattan and the Bronx there, and if you try to avoid it by crossing on the north side you’ll find out the hard way that there’s no walkway on that side of the bridge. 😡

@memory @Bman

I agree -It’s truly awful.
