Why is my account flagged as a bot? - Lemmy.world

I noticed that all my comments here appear with a bot symbol next to them. I have three or four lemmy accounts and this only happens on world. Did I do something wrong? or do i need to do something to remove it? I’m using the sync app btw

I don’t know if you can do it from Sync, but on the settings page it’s just a checkbox. Uncheck it and hit save.

This solved the problem. If this option was on by default, that’s stupid. But if I accidentally activated it then I’m the stupid one. lol

Feels good do be human again? If I were a lemmy dev I would add captchas to that checkbox.

Yeah, let the bot first calculate a billion digits of pi or something before allowing it to check the box. No human will pass that test!

When I created my account I checked the box just out of reflex before I realized what it was for.
