Title - Lemmy

Infinity rocks
Did you mean: Infinity Stones ?

I used the rocks to destroy the rocks.

No. Infinity for Reddit is/was a FOSS reddit app.

Now there is Infinity for Lemmy by another developer.

That’s what I like about foss, people can continue where others left off, unlike proprietary, when the developer stops, the project stupid, unless they give away the source code or open it up.
Trying it you rn. Very promising, very material and such charm
I’m looking for a way to block communities. Does it have that, I only found user blocking option but not community blocking.
Connect has both community and instance blocking.

Yes I was using that before, I really liked connect, but I also want to use foss. So I’m giving infinity a chance.

I was also informed that summit was not foss, I really liked that too.

In fact there’s too much options for apps now, sometimes I experience choice paralysis. Or app hoarding

I’ve been happy with Liftoff.
I have few to zero complaints with it
Is your community overview morking, for me it always gives an error recently
It really only gives me errors if the server is throwing errors
But it works on jerboa
I can’t type on Jerboa is the thing. And how would Jerboa display something if the server throws an error? That doesn’t make sense to me
I was happy with connect. Then I craved for foss. Now I’m torn between summit, thunder and arctius (formerly fennec)
What the deuce is FOSS
Free open source software
You better start beliving in Foss…🏴‍☠️🦑🏴‍☠️ your in one
Ah sweet so I’m already covered
Isn’t summit proprietary?

I believe it is foss. But you can verify it if you like.

the page on github only has the icon and the APKs, there is no source code. Perhaps the Apache licence is only applied to the icon? I don’t know… alternativeto.net marks it as proprietary

Ok, so there’s no definitive answer.

But nevertheless, I’ve been tinkering with infinity for lemmy and I think I will choose this as my main app for the moment.

In fact I am replying to you using infinity. I really do enjoy this app after I’ve finished customizing it, the settings took me more than 30 minutes because of the sheer number of combinations I had to try.

But after I finished setting up, it is a joy to use.

Meh, I'm happy to support the dev. No judgment if you don't want to pay, but I think it's worth it.
You can support FOSS devs, too.
They are in more need of it.
Why make this comment? They didn’t say they weren’t going to.
When there’s a FOSS app as good as sync, sure.
As a former infinity user, “Infinity for Lemmy” is the one I’m waiting for.

I’ve tried all the Android reddit apps. Infinity is fine, I just prefer Sync’s UI/UX.

Honestly, there are three right now on Android.

Thunder Connect Liftoff

I’m currently using Liftoff more than the others, but every week I’m seeing huge positive changes being made to all of these. Jerboa is an honorable mention, as I don’t think we can log in to that yet.

Thunder for Lemmy - Apps on Google Play

Thunder is an open source, cross-platform Lemmy client

This is all just subjective opinion but I’ve been using connect for weeks and I bigly prefer Sync
Maybe I’m misunderstanding you, but I’ve never had any trouble logging into Jerboa. It’d be my favorite app but it has framerate issues on my device, so I’m using Thunder.
Literally zero FOSS apps that are even half as good as Sync.

Eh, Infinity for Lemmy is.

Although it’s in alpha and theirfor there many bugs, but feature wise it might be even better than Sync

I was switching between Voyager, Infinity and Thunder until Sync got released. None of those even come close to the User Experience of Sync. It’s not even the bugs, it’s the interface and the UX.
If they start making better apps, maybe
I’m more concerned about the data collection then the price.
Okay, I won’t push you from Sync. But if you have the money to remove its ads, please also consider supporting Lemmy directly or indirectly (Mozilla, among other things, funded the effort to find and patch TootRoot before it became a problem). If you don’t want to just donate, switching to Mozilla VPN will also help.

Lemmy

I have Sync and Thunder for now. I love thunder for the Flutter, but sync just works perfectly.

Maybe they’ll catch up someday, but I’m okay paying for software now and then.

I tried Sync, but Thunder has stolen my heart. Really happy with it and the development.
Thunder is good, but not there yet for me.

Lemmy

Imagine caring what app other people use.
I care in the sense that if a lot of other people are happy with a different client, I want to try it myself.
Yeah it’s not like that the majority of people using e.g. Chrome over FOSS alternative like Firefox has any repercussions, why would we care, right?
Nobody is forcing you to use sync, hell nobody is even asking you to try it. So why not stop being one of the spiteful angry assholes that is driving people away from Lemmy.
Interesting that you got “spiteful angry asshole” from my comment lol
Yeah, I was wondering where that part of the comment came from as well…
“Spiteful angry asshole” is a dumb response. I agree with everything else.
That’s a bit on a different scale than what client apps people use for lemmy
Sure but it’s the same concept of why we should care what others are using, which was what the comment I replied to critisized.
Imagine caring about people caring

Imagine caring about people imagining people caring about people caring.

Did I spell caring right? It really doesn’t look right anymore.

I think you used it right. It’s when people use a car. Car + ing = caring
Weird. I downloaded synch and didnt pay a cent. Is there a pay version?
Yeah it’s free, but the ad-free version is 20 quid and the Ultra version is a laughable 100 quid
