Just wanted to share a quick thought with you about the #Fediverse. Lately, it seems like there's been a lot of emphasis on drama, and well, that might not be the best thing for the community.

When we put too much focus on drama, it tends to attract folks who thrive on it, and unfortunately, that can lead to more negative behavior becoming the norm. You know, I've noticed similar patterns on platforms like Reddit and Twitter, and honestly, it rarely ends up being a positive outcome in the long run.

So, let's keep an eye on this and try to steer things in a more positive direction, shall we?
You know, one thing that really bothered me about Twitter was the never-ending stream of dunks and dogpiles, which unfortunately sometimes escalated into downright harassment. It's sad to say, but it seemed like that negativity almost defined Twitter, even before Elon Musk entered the picture. To be honest, that's one of the main reasons I made the choice to leave the platform.

Now, I ask you, do we really want to replicate all that negativity that plagues Twitter? Personally, I can confidently say that I have no interest in it, and I'm pretty sure most people would agree with me.
@atomicpoet I left Twitter a few years ago for that very reason.

I like the realness that's on this app. The negativity and ganging up on, if you have different opinions, gets old.

@atomicpoet it’s one of the reasons why I actually kind of like the fact that quote posts don’t happen on this platform. Too often they were used -- especially by large accounts -- to bully people
@theLUCASTDS Hey there, just wanted to give you a heads up that quote posts actually exist on the Fediverse. You can find them on platforms like #Friendica, #Akkoma, #Misskey, and #Firefish. They've been around for quite some time now.

Interestingly, I've noticed that lately there's been quite a bit of dunking and dogpiling on the Fediverse, and it's often happening on platforms that don't even have the ability to quote. This just goes to show that the issue isn't really with the technology itself, but rather with how people choose to use it.
@atomicpoet I’m aware. But they are much harder to come by on the typical Mastodon app. But I agree. It’s human nature to dunk🏀
@atomicpoet
I will never engage on drama against a person, I rarely and if I have something to add I will engage in conversations about brands/companies.
One never know for sure what is happening with a person so never judge someone for other's opinion.

🥥 No drama! NOT drama! You're the drama!
(I believe that's a paraphrase of Trump or some other right-wing nut job -- NOT a reference to YOU, Chris.)
Now that I've got that out of the way, I find myself in the position of exploring a leap from my #Fediverse instance to another server.
If I haven't screwed the pooch with this toot, do you think I'm the kind of gonads that should be glubbing at YOUR instance? 🥥
