So, I'm in the process of trying to convert an old laptop into a #HomeServer. Since I'm not knowledgeable enough it's has been a disaster so far. I've tried Ubuntu LXDE, Linux Mint, Manjaro XFCE and so far I've had many problems archiving what I want. So I installed what I have on my desktop which is Manjaro KDE. Is a much better experience so far and at least I've accomplish 2 things. Wish me luck.

@sproid The desktop environnement shouldn't really be important unless you're not running headless. Terminal + SSH should be enough to operate your server away from graphical applications.

Having your own #homeServer sure is a great learning experience. I'm wishing you luck! 🍀

@provomeister I don't have the knowledge to run a server. But I do know how to install Jellyfin. I also learned recently how to install Pi-hole, Grocy, and Calibre-Web. I'm far from headless server still. Next up is how to create a self hosted website and then learn to do reverse proxy. Still, is hard to troubleshoot and some things are still not how I want them to work.
