I've said it christ knows how many times by now but one of the primary reasons I started the legaladvice_txt account was that tendency of morons/the ill-informed pick up on random legal words or concepts that *arent difficult*, but then throw them around in conjunction with whatever the fuck they feel like as if these are magic words casting a spell of "I get what I want".

And the indictments yesterday have ushered in yet another golden age of this on twitter.

The flailing and inventions and deliberate and/or idiotic misrepresentation of basic concepts by Trump supporters on twitter is reaching critical levels. Even some people who are or purport themselves to be attorneys are inventing amazing fabrications to try and whip up a frenzy of comforting lies, and it's funny as hell to watch.

And also terrifying, because even less well informed people will absolutely seize on some of this shit as an excuse to bring violence to bear on it.

It was two years ago today that I 'retired' the account. Obviously I still post now and then but largely I've tried to put it all behind me.

And yet there's that good old shitposter's draw to want to watch the train wreck, to wallow in it, regardless of the soul ache it causes after a while.

I say this as if I'm not already in a dozen Discord servers that help me do all of this daily, of course. I post that good ol' Kelley Sicko pic often enough and I can't describe how true it is.

watching it all go by like
