@arstechnica SMR tech is pretty much in all HDDs now. It sucks when they get nearly full.

@arstechnica Stop using WD. They cut corners and play games. Just stay away from them. Seagate may have had a bad rep a number of years ago but re recently their stuff is pretty rock solid. Looking at their EXOS X16 drives in the 16TB range look pretty dang solid. Enough that I'm probably going to do that in a 24x of that in a RAIDZ3
