@wholesomememes @jentrification last time I saw someone post this, someone else said it was a myth, and one that the author hated. I can’t find evidence to refute the myth, but there’s no mention on her Wikipedia page:

Given how popular this anecdote is, the fact that it’s not mentioned implies it’s apocryphal.
